Britney Spears might have just prolonged her Planet Hollywood residency in Las Vegas, but she’s putting down more roots 300 miles away from Sin City.

The princess of pop—who ranked #82 on Forbes’ 2015 Celebrity 100 list with an income of $31 million—just sealed the deal on a $7.4 million 13,264-square-foot mansion situated on roughly 21 acres of land in Thousand Oaks, California (a stone’s throw away from a 8,456-square-foot Hacienda-style haven she picked up in 2012 for $6.7 million).
Tucked in a gated enclave at 2300 White Stallion Road, the singer’s new Italianate villa—which consists of five bedrooms and seven-and-a-half baths—opens to a marble-floored foyer that leads into a carpeted great room with a 35-foot-high ceiling and colossal fireplace.
The home’s formal living room is anchored by a limestone mantelpiece while its oak-paneled library—outfitted with built-in bookshelves—boasts Parquet de Versailles floors and its own hearth.
Meanwhile a center-island kitchen—equipped with all the bells and whistles befitting a professional chef—connects to an informal dining area with a bay window.
Upstairs lies a grandiose master suite replete with a private terrace with mountain views, custom-fitted walk-in closets, and marble-clad his-and-hers baths, along with four en-suite guest bedrooms and a media room.
The estate also showcases a 1,200-square-foot poolside pavilion with its own full kitchen, bath, and 3,500-bottle wine cellar, plus a rear motor court with access to a six-car garage; flowering gardens; an infinity pool; a stand-alone spa; and a fruitful orchard.
A lighted tennis court with a raised viewing platform also sits on the grounds, on top of a three-hole golf course.
The real estate splurge is a bit surprising, given that the femme fatale still has yet to regain control of her own fortune. (An indefinite conservatorship implemented in 2008—the year she infamously hit rock bottom—continues to grant her father, Jamie Spears, complete reign over all her finances.) But now that she’s cleaned up her act and has a solid, steady income (she’s reportedly earning $475,000 per Planet Hollywood performance), the 33-year-old mother-of-two has clearly come a long way from threatening paparazzi with umbrellas. Perhaps the extravagant purchase is just another way she’s patting herself on the back.
